Accounting Problem

There was a backlog with the books, VAT, CIS, PAYE and wages. The Chairman, who was soon to retire, wanted everything brought up to date and maintained going forward for when his daughter took over his role.


Accounting Solution

Wages was the priority, so our Payroll team worked through previous filings to understand the current position with HMRC. We could then transition everything in terms of PAYE and CIS onto our Payroll software so payslips could be generated to release payments to employees, and we could submit all necessary filings with HMRC.

In parallel, one of our senior Bookkeepers visited onsite for the first two days to build knowledge on the internal processes and procedures surrounding POs, invoices, sign off, etc. This remit was then taken off-site and managed by our in-house team of bookkeepers.

Accounting Result

  • All backlog was cleared, payroll and books were maintained in a timely manner each month.
  • All filings with HMRC were brought up to date – no further fines.
  • New processes and procedures to streamline the flow of transactions.
  • All suppliers informed of new central accounts email address for all future invoices.
